What are the dates for Heart of Worship (HOW) 2008?
September 10 - 12, 2008
Where exactly is the Heart of Worship (HOW) conference for 2008?
The conference is hosted at the Mark Drive Pentecostals (First UPC Saint John), in the coastal city of Saint John, NB, Canada. Saint John is on the east coast of Canada, and about an hour’s drive from the Maine border.
How do I get to Saint John?
Saint John has an airport, with connections to major hubs like Montreal and Toronto. Most people fly directly into Saint John, but Fredericton NB and Moncton, NB are also close by (about 1.5 hour drive away each). If you are traveling from the States, you may want to check prices for flying into Bangor, Maine – often its cheaper flying in there, and it’s only a 3.5 hour drive from Saint John.
IMPORTANT – Make sure you fly into Saint John, NB and not St. Johns, NL. Both cities are on the east coast of Canada, but if you go to St. Johns, you’ve gone too far.
Do I need a Passport?
Travel to Canada is straightforward, but since 9/11 border security has been tightening. As a result, all Americans traveling to Canada need a passport. For information on this requirement, see the US Consular Services. For information on getting a passport, see the Dept of State website, Passport section. Applications can take up to six weeks, unless you choose expedited service.
Where do I stay?
The conference hotel is the Hampton Inn of Saint John, located pretty much across the road from the church.
Will I be able to understand what people will be saying?
English is the official and everyday language, although you won’t be hearing us drawl.
How will I buy and pay for things?
Canada has its own currency, the Canadian dollar. However, American dollars and credit cards are also accepted at all retail, hotel and restaurant locations. Canadian money can be withdrawn from Interac machines (ATMs) across the city.
